MANOA REDD+

MANOA REDD+ Project covers 73,000 hectares of native forest, a private property known as the Manoa Farm. It is located in the city of Cujubim, state of Rondônia.

The initiative is a partnership between Biofílica and Triângulo Pisos e Painéis, the landowner, who owns the land and is responsible for maintain its integrity. The farm is currently the largest FSC certified forest management area in the State of Rondônia, and it is bound to be one of the most modern vertically integrated timber company in the country.

The project area is one of the last remaining standing forest in private land in the region, struggling against increasing pressure of squatters and illegal logging, in addition to low timber prices. Manoa has a fundamental role on landscape connection by linking different protected areas, shielding a highly diverse biodiversity and by being a regional benchmark on best practices of sustainable forest management.
